shoppin'

I desperately need to go to the grocery store, but it is a bit difficult when you don't have a car. I rather like not having a car though, that way I don't have to worry about gas, insurance, or annoying kids keying it. Not to bad. Except I feel like a total mooch.

Tomorrow the list for the student show goes up! YAY! I probably didn't get anything in, it's cool, I am really not expecting to. har har har. I really should draw more. To bad I am lazy and not talented enough!

nyar... cold and lonely

my house is very cold... at least on the first floor. If you turn the thermostat up anything past 72 all of the other floors get burning hot. So I have to deal with 65 degrees while everyone else gets 76 degrees ( I would much rather be warm)

Tray left today, he made it home safely.

It is very cold out side... I don't want to go anywhere... and I wish my computer would work. I miss my computer, and Tray.

HD tv looks all sorts of fabulous, we have Heroes on two of the TVs in the house... one of them HD (obviously) and it is damn pretty.

at least I am not a LARPer

Sunday is a pretty lazy day for me, mostly because I don't have to do any cooking at all.. I get a meal from one of my campus friends (usually) and then get dinner at Saint Cathrine's. Today is especially lazy though... for I am currently playing D&D with my buddies.. first time in a long time.
I take pride that I don't play extremely geeky games... I however I am aware that it is one of the most dorky things you can do.
Not nearly as bad as LARPing though. LARP is short for Live Action Role Playing, and usally revolves around a particular game called Vampire the Masquerade. Soooo these people dress up as vampires and go parading around living out their character's lives under the supervision of a Game Master, if there is a conflict with the characters in game everything is solved with "rock paper scissors." So yea... dorky...

I really hate the computer that I am on right now, very bad memory... when ever I type anything it takes forever for the computer to notice what is going on. *sigh* I don't know what I am typing until about 4 seconds later...

Yay...

Wow... Drake security was actually very nice this time.
Tray-Tray came into town for the weekend for fun and merry makin' but of course it couldn't be that easy. A plastic part of his car attempted to remove itself from the bottom. But while Tray was evaluating the situation by laying down on the dirty ground looking at the carnage Drake security came to help out. They couldn't do much but they did try. Yay... one positive experience in 4 years.
We did get it fixed enough to go see Pan's Labyrinth, a fabulous movie. I did have my eyes covered during the uber gory parts, but it was a good experience. Apparently Ofilia and I have the same nose, I hope so... she was darling and great little outfits.
So this morning after lunch with my sister and her Trey we got the car fixed and all is well.

Carpe Diem

In GD4 it was noted that in most of the stories had parents that where missing, and it makes sense... if you look at ALL the classic Disney movies (and most other childhood stories) they are missing one or both. Common theme and I am not sure why. I guess it could have something to do with finding pity for them in their tragedy or making them a bit more mysterious. Not fully understanding their origins or just a piece of it.

It's not so uncommon in real life either... only one of my past boyfriends still has both of his parents. One of them actually died while I was in the room. However I haven't had any big tragedy in my life other then my mom's mother dieing on Christmas with I was 6, but it has left me with little talent to relate to death. Not to bad I guess.

Today is the anniversary of my best friends father's death, thus the most touchy day of the year. Surprisingly it has gone really well so far, he is in good spirits and doing alright (at least the last I talked to him). I can't help but worry though, he takes it all very seriously (with good reason). Very strange situation, he died when he was 5 so he only has these constructed memories of him... and he has a brother who is 10 years older... and his mom got remarried right after... and he doesn't even really know how it happened. He was only told that it was a "brain complication". Arg.. difficult, I want to ask questions but I know that he doesn't have many answers.

Oh well...

readin' and stuff

I am currently reading what is apparently the best book ever, "The History of Love" by Nicole Kraduss. I got a call last night from my Tray-Tray extending a phone tree from the dear Anne demanding that all shall read. Well, 62 pages in, it's not bad... I don't know about the best book ever. I do quite like Tale of Two Cities... but then again I like Revolutions...

I have been a lot of reading for myself lately. I just finished "The Watchmen" by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons yesterday at about 3 in the morning; very good graphic novel about "masked adventurers" Published in 1985 this series revolutionised comics with it's dark story telling. I highly recommend it for a quick read.

Post number... 2?

Okay, for whatever freak reason I can't get the password for my first blog. It won't accept my e-mail address anymore. So if you are looking for my first real post it is here.

Anyway... my sketch book is still missing, very strange. I am quite upset; I just don't draw as much when I don't have it. I do have a little Moleskine but... it is a bit small (but it does have the grid I am such a fan of). I miss my old little bible-like one that I had my 2nd year, I got so much drawing done with that guy, ofcourse I did most of my drawing while in lecture classes... strange, I bet that I improved my drawing more in those classes then I ever did in drawing class. har har har...
